A video shared by sonia:
Recently, my dear friend, wellness coach and yoga master, Sonia, shared a video which had an interesting insight, a statement, which seemed very simple, caught my attention, and set me thinking.
"The soul manifests in the human form to have experiences that it does not have, inherently..."
The desire to have experiences:
You only crave to experience what you are not, what you don't have and what you have not done. Think about it, isn't this your own experience? This is applicable to the triade of being, having and doing. For example, if you have never tasted a mango, and have tasted a banana. When both options are available, your desire will be to try the mango, as it's something new to be experienced. This is a simple, fundamental and profound insight, which lead me to the next thought.
Expanding the logic at the cosmic scale:
When i expanded this insight at the cosmic level. The Shiva, supreme consciousness is formless, ever present, un manifested, shoonya, adwaita, universal, timeless, thoughtless, without a name.
It's desire to express itself and experience what it is not, created shakti, it's counterpart which has a form, has a gross shape, is expanding, creating, dissolving, has a dual nature, is vibrant and ever changing, is the manifestation of time itself with a past and future. This is a very interesting insight.
(Hence when shakti merges with Shiva, one attains bliss or samadhi... This is the merger of the expressed and unexpressed forms.)
Incarnations of the soul:
As the soul is a part of the universal consciousness itself, it's desire to experience what it is not, let's it take forms from Jada( less awareness) to chetan( more awareness). From a rock to a human being. Hence the theory of many lifetimes and many births in the process of evolution. (There are no superior or inferior experiences. Only the level of awareness in the form changes.. in humans, it is inherently the highest.)
Here the soul is experiencing actions, has possessions, is into emotions, simply because it is not it's true nature. This is the fundamental reason of creation. It wants to experience something that it is not, which is the foundation of the creation of the universe itself!
This fits well into the statement from samyama liberal school of spirituality that the soul incarnates with a soul plan, to have experiences and onces it's experiences are complete, it is free, as there is nothing more to experience.
As Being free from experiences, or the freedom from desire to have experiences, can be done by either of the following methods.
1. the experiences can be exhausted by multiple lifetimes in waking state or dream state. This will take a lot of time, as according to samyama, there are more than 500 experiences. To create circumstances to fulfill all experiences can obviously take a lot of time. Again this can be done in multiple lifetimes or by extending ones lifetime, which yogis do with certain practises. The freedom given to the human form is to take specific efforts. In other forms, like animals, this freedom is not there. Hence the importance of the human form. It's very precious. The interesting point to note here that experiences in the dream state also appear real... So lucid dreaming is a technique which can be used here. However, all said and done, this is a time consuming approach.
2. simply the desire to have experiences can be eliminated. Elimination of desires can be done by the spiritual toolkit of yoga, gyana, bhakti and karma. Which is explained in another blog.
The desires are linked to the role. as long as the Maya or illusion of attachment to multiple roles remains, this is hard to do. However by the spiritual toolkit, one can get the clarity that "it's my role and i am not a role", to rapidly be unattached, while being involved, at the same time.
3. Knowing (by experience, not by believing) that the desires, the actions, everything is Shiva and there is nothing to be free of, as one is already free. As given in shiv manas puja... "Yaddath karma karo ni tattha akhilam shambho tavaradhanam". All the actions i do are in your (atman that is shivohams) devotion. With this the law of karma is irrelevant as the karma is one with the supreme and is guided. To understand the 4th sloka of shiv Manas Puja, where you are the Shiva himself, as the Atman, you can refer to a blog on shiv manas puja.
I found the approach in
1 the most difficult,
2 simpler and
3, the easiest,
especially, when one is able to be in constant anahata naada to keep awareness.
This realisation itself is the key to be jeevanmukta, being free, right now, right here. Not after death. You are now free to act with hundred percent involvement, zero attachment to results while being in a state of infinite abundance.
Feedback
What is your opinion? Which of the 3 appeals to you? What is your own experience? (not your belief). Share in the comments section of the blog.
Rebirth
A. Body can never be reborn as it merges with the 5 elements. Hence it's non permanent.
B. Atma can never be reborn as it was never born. It is eternal.
C. So what moves from one body to the other is the mind, carrying all the memories of the past, in the chitta.
Mind is a projection of the atma. It does not exist independently. Once you know this, you are free. You are jivanmukta. You are out of maya, when you realise it's your mind. You are not the mind. So all the beliefs, projections, patterns, impressions, stories of the mind ( not permanent) vanish in an instant.
You have taken this birth to get some experiences. You can change them with purushartha.
Constantly hearing anahata nada is one of the easiest ways to be in the awareness. Otherwise, mind will take over, making you believe you are the role, instead of you playing a role.
Karma is associated with the mind. When mind itself is a projection, karma and rebirth are also a projection. It appears real. When it is not. This is Maya.
Blessing:
May you soul fulfill all experiences or just drop the desire to have experiences or just merge the desire and it's true self into Shiva itself. Blessing you with inner clarity and fulfillment.

The soul needs the form to experience, yes.
Q: is the soul impacted by the experience?
A. No.
It shouldn't be because it is part of the the unmanifest ONE.
