जीवनस्य प्रयो जनं द्विविधं जीवन्मुक्तिः सर्वलोककल्याणं च l
The dual purpose of life is Self liberation when alive, (not after death) and well being for all.
Jeernodhar
It is a great fortune to be able to contribute to the renovation ( jeernodhar) of a ancient temple, dedicated to the bhairava in kashi. It takes lifetimes of punya to be able to do jeernodhar of a temple, and thousands of lives, to be able to do one in kashi.

Sudarshan Brings An Opportunity
I got a message early morning on 5th March, from Sudarshan, sharing the budget, plans and his commitment to see the Jeernodhar through. A thought, by the grace of lord shiva came, to involve the community in this project. I thank my friend sudarshan to bring the opportunity of a lifetime. Sudarshan is a senior information technology professional working for one of the largest IT companies in Bangalore. He has made around 15 kashi trips in last few years and is deeply immersed in Shiva bhakti. I am fortunate to have him as my buddy. Our team instantly put up this webpage to involve the community and we made our first collections for the project within 12 hours! This can only happen with Shivkrupa.
The Temple Is Symbolic
A temple is the symbol of the self. Where the various parts of the temple symbolise the body, the diety, being the Atman itself. From great kings to normal people, everyone has contributed to rebuilding temples damaged by age, invasions, earthquakes, floods, ice ages over thousands of years.

Our Dharma to Protect Our Culture
It is our duty to protect and nurture our santana culture, which has imbibed great values to us, building a foundation of family, society and nation, which has not only survived the invaders, but is also resurging now.
Astha Bhairavas of Kashi
Ashta Bhairavs (“Eight Bhairavs”) are eight manifestations of God Kaal Bhairav, a ferocious aspect of “Lord Shiva”. who is considered the supreme ruler of time of the universe and the chief form of Lord Bhairav. They guard and controls the eight directions.
The eight Bhairavs represent eight different elements in which five elements represented by Lord Bhairav are sky, air, fire, water and earth and the other three beings are sun, moon and atma (the soul). Each of the eight Bhairavs are different in appearance, have different weapons, have different vahanas and they bless their devotees with eight types of wealth representing Ashta Lakshmis.

Bhoot Bhairav Temple in Kashi
This temple is mentioned in the kashi khanda of Skanda Purana. Kashi is the only divine place, where the presence of lord Shiva is in the entire region, not only in a specific temple. This is possible due to various vinayakas, bhairavas and lingams specifically placed at certain locations.

Here is a small video that takes you within the mandir for darshan of Bhoot Bhairav
A virtual walk through regarding this temple.
Here is a small walk through of the temple. You can see a pat of the construction done earlier and left unfinished.

Bhut Bhairav Temple
The temple of Bhut Bhairo is one of the famous pilgrimage centres of Varanasi. The deity here is also known as Bheeshan Bhairava. Bhut means a demon and Bhairo is the deified magistrate of Varanasi. It is believed that the god of the temple, Bhairo protects and guards his worshippers from demons and other infernal beings. The idol of the Lord looks dignified with a moustache, the ends of which are curved. The head and part of the neck of the deity are visible here. The remaining body is hidden by an apron which reaches above the head. The court in which this temple stands has several other shrines. These shrines are of the ancient times. This old temple has been made of various blocks of stone of pyramidal shape that were found in various parts of Varanasi.
Jeernodhar Investment
Instead of contributing the entire sum of around 1.5 lacs myself which is easily possible, I had a blessed thought of extending this opportunity to many friends, with each contributing anywhere from Rs 1/- onwards, yathashakti (meaning doing as one is capable of). It is not a question of the amount. it is a matter of being committed to the cause.

Time Line
The project should be complete in two weeks time.
Personal supervision
I am personally going to kashi on 6th March and coming back on 10th March to check progress as i participate in maha Shivratri event. Sudarshan will stay back to ensure completion and give updates.
