Kalratri Mata Temple
It is a profound blessing to serve Maa Kalratri by ensuring a sacred, sustainable water source (by creating a borewell) within her temple premises. It takes lifetimes of punya to be able to contribute to the being a medium to provide jal (water) to mata, and thousands of lives, to be able to do one in kashi, the land of salvation, the land of shiva himself!

Sudarshan Brings An Opportunity
I got a message early morning on 5th September, from Sudarshan, sharing the budget, plans and his commitment to install a borewell to ensure uninterrupted access to pure water in the temple. Previous seva projects for Mata’s darbar have been completed with community support, inspiring this focused seva for borewell water.
A thought, by the grace of lord shiva came, to involve the community in this project. I thank my friend sudarshan to bring the opportunity of a lifetime. Sudarshan is a senior information technology professional working for one of the largest IT companies in Bangalore. He has made around 15 kashi trips in last few years and is deeply immersed in Shiva bhakti. I am fortunate to have him as my buddy. My daugther Avani, instantly put up this webpage to involve the community and we made our first collections for the project within 12 hours! This can only happen with Shivkrupa.
Sacred Significance of Water Restoration
In Kashi, repairing or establishing water sources in temples is deeply auspicious, especially in Devi sthals. Water is central to ritual purity and devotional offerings. This borewell is more than infrastructure—it’s a sacred renewal, nourishing both devotees and dharmic tradition.

It is our duty to protect and nurture our santana culture, which has imbibed great values to us, building a foundation of family, society and nation, which has not only survived the invaders, but is also resurging now.

Investment
Instead of contributing the entire sum of around 1.8 lacs myself which is easily possible, I had a blessed thought of extending this opportunity to many friends, with each contributing anywhere from Rs 1/- onwards, yathashakti (meaning doing as one is capable of). It is not a question of the amount. it is a matter of being committed to the cause.
Time Line
The borewell construction has started. It should be complete in two weeks time, by Dussehra.
