Pasaydan The Universal Prayer - Moving Energy from Root chakra to Crown Chakra

Pasaydan is the universal blessing, a prayer where our Satguru, Sant Dyneshwar (Mauli, the universal mother) asks for everything for the world and nothing for himself. It is considered the summary of his book Dyneshwari.

The usual meaning is in italic fonts (taken from a blog of an unknown writer) and my insights in Red font below. There are 9 stanzas in Pasaydan. The first 2 are given in the sequence as below.

आतां विश्वात्मके देवे, येणे वाग्यज्ञे तोषावे, तोषोनि मज द्यावे, पसायदान हे ॥१॥ Now, 'O' God, The entire Cosmos Divine | Be pleased with this pious word offering of mine ||

Grant me in good will benign | Your Benevolent Grace Divine ||1||

The Yagna referred over here by Mauli is the offering of words/sound in the form of the book Dyneshwari. In Shrimad Bhagwat Gita, when asked where the lord manifests himself, Shri Krishna says: Yagnanam Japayagnosmi, Meaning in Yagnas (offering to the lord), I am the japa (divine words). The offering of the sound is supreme as the sound (big bang) was the very beginning of the cosmos.

जे खळांचि व्यंकटी सांडो, तया सत्कर्मी रती वाढो, भूतां परस्परे जडो, मैत्र जीवांचे ॥२॥

May the evil minded, their wickedness shed | May their intellect turn to pious and good deeds instead || May all living beings find themselves bonded | By friendly ties of soul companionship ||2||

It is not the people who are evil, it is their thoughts that are evil, may those be shed and they turn to doing good deeds that benefit everyone and let everyone get connected with harmony and friendship. Dyneshwar Mauli is referring to the anahata chakra that is the seat of love and connection. This heart chakra is the seat of the soul itself. This energy center is the source of love, that is the most powerful emotion in the universe.

To better understand the sequence of energy flow, i have reversed the stanzas/ovis 9 to 3 as follows.

येथ म्हणे श्री विश्वेश्वरावो, हा होईल दानपसावो, येणे वरे ज्ञानदेवो, सुखिया झाला ॥९॥

Here, said, the lord of the Universe | This shall become thy Grace Divine ||

And with this blissful Grace Divine | Jnandeva became ever joyous and happy benign ||9||  Crown chakra, at the top of the head, is the gateway to receiving divine cosmic energy. Opening upwards, with a 1000 petal lotus, ready to receive the blessings of the supreme soul, this is where one finds the ultimate bliss. It is characterized by violet color and sound Ang. Dyneshwar Mauli is in eternal bliss in this state. In this peaceful and receiving state, all the abundant universal energy, bliss and knowledge manifests and is absorbed into self from the top of the head. As the universe is all about giving and abundance, as seen in trees, clouds, rain, rivers, lakes in nature, alignment to this chakra, naturally tunes oneself into abundance and giving. Giving tremendous value addition to everyone through ones thoughts, words, actions, while acting as a medium (to channelize the universal abundance) is the very purpose of our existence.

आणि ग्रंथोपजिवीये, विशेषी लोकी इये, दृष्टादृष्टविजये, होआवेजी ॥८॥

And those who live by this scripture Divine | Eternally guiding all living beings ||

Be victorious over seen unforeseen | In this world and beyond ||8||

In the third eye chakra, in between the eyebrows, a two petal lotus, where the plans transform into images of people and things, we see a clear vision. Embodied in Indigo color, the color of intuition and creativity and the beeja mantra Aum, the constant repetition of the images to add value to others lives, reinforces the vision. The guidance on this divine vision to add value is through established universal principals and laws that are documented in eternal books. it is in this space, that the unseen is seen and the undiscovered is discovered. It is here that the vision is formed

किंबहुना सर्व सुखी, पूर्ण होवोनि तिहीं लोकी, भजिजो आदिपुरुषीं, अखण्डित ॥७॥

Let all beings be completely satisfied and happy | Fully contented in all the three world ||

Engrossed and merged in devotion | Eternally, of ultimate Divine ||7||

In the vishuddhi chakra, at the base of the the throat, symbolized by a lotus with 16 petals, the element ether is characterized where the plans articulate into precise words, numbers, dates, repetition of assertions of mission is done again and again. Embodied in Blue color, the color of trust, and the beeja mantra Ham, the constant repetition of the mission to add value to others lives, is the purpose that fulfills ones heart and soul. This the the first step towards enrolling others into the mission to make it larger by participation. It is here that the mission is formed

चन्द्रमेंजे अलांछन, मार्तण्ड जे तापहीन, ते सर्वाही सदा सज्जन, सोयरे होतु ॥६॥

A Moon without a smear | A Sun without a hot sear ||

Always to one and all, these hallowed saints | Become kith and kin dear ||6||

Entering the heart chakra, at the centre of the chest, the sound Yam, symbolized by a green color and a lotus with 12 petals, with the element of air, unification of sun and moon is the collapse of the idea of time itself! As the seat of supreme emotion of love, this chakra transcends time. An acceleration of manifestation, rapidly taking one closer to the vision and mission happens. The connection, the harmony is established in this anahata chakra as people are enrolled from the team, suppliers, customers, society, nation and the world in the mission. As more and more mission associates join in, the acceleration of the mission is rapid. It is here that the empathetic communication is formed. चला कल्पतरूंचे आरव, चेतनाचिंतामणींचे गाव, बोलती जे अर्णव, पीयूषांचे ॥५॥

Moving groves of wish granting trees | Colonies of conscious wish fulfilling jewels ||

These saints are, speaking oceans | Full of pious Nectarly Divine ||5||

Moving to the manipura chakra, slightly above the navel region, shines a bright gem, the seat of nectar, the color yellow, is where the plans to make the goals real are set. Characterized by the element fire, as indicated by the word chintamani, the bright stone, The tree formation of kalpataru (the tree that grants all wishes) is like the mindmap, detailing all the tasks, sub tasks needed to fulfill the goal. The gems are like the milestones that are to be achieved. The plans made here are divinely inspired. The words, the sound of which is divine, soft, smooth, melodious, like the beeja mantra Ram of the solar plexus chakra, symbolized by a lotus with 10 petals. It is here that milestones, tasks, and sub tasks are formed.

वर्षत सकळ मंडळी, ईश्वरनिष्ठांची मांदियाळी, अनवरत भूमंडळी, भेटतु भूता ॥४॥

May shower all over the pious bliss Divine | May the world be full of Saintly beings benign || May incessantly in the Universe | Meet the living beings ||4||

Moving to the sacral chakra, we see the purest of the pure beings descend on earth. They bring with them blessings, the passion, the purpose, the energy to make the dreams come true. Symbolized by Orange color, in this swadhisthan chakra, seen as a lotus with 6 petals, The element water is indicate by the word varshata - meaning raining / showering. All needs desires, goals, get purified by the blessings of the saints and higher beings. The sound of beeja mantra Vam reverberates in this chakra, just below the navel region. It is here that the blessings covert into a flowing passion.

दुरितांचे तिमिर जावो, विश्व स्वधर्म सूर्ये पाहो, जो जे वांछील तो ते लाहो, प्राणिजात ॥३॥

May the darkness of ignorant disappear | May the universe see the Sun of self consciousness || May whatsoever aspirations of those be fulfilled | Of all living beings ||3||

As darkness (of greed and fear which originates from "what is in it for me"), is replaced by bright light of sun (clarity on the mission I am here for - to do tremendous value addition in this world, as my dharma -duty), may all the needs, desires and wants get fulfilled for everyone. Manifestation of goals is the place of root chakra, symbolized by a lotus with 4 petals. Energy as it passes through the mooladhara chakra, conquers the darkness of greed and fear. Embodied by element earth and red color, characterised by the sound of Lam, you can feel the reverberations just at the base of the spine region. This chkara is facing downwards.

While reciting Pasaydan in the original sequence, you can visualize your vision, mission, goals and feel the energy move from root chakra to the crown chkara.
