The 6 Basic Fears

Napoleon Hill identified these 6 Basic Fears that are really the fears that all other fears boil down to. I like to call them the root fears.

1) Fear of poverty

Symptoms include: indifference, doubt, worry, over-caution, procrastination.

Overcome it by law of abundance...there is more than enough for everyoNe. Instead of asking, what will I get, ask, how can I be the medium to transfer abundance of sat chit ananda...energy, joy and knowledge... to everyone to give them prosperity, well-being and happiness.

2) Fear of criticism

Symptoms include: self-consciousness, lack of poise, lack of personality, inferiority complex, extravagance, lack of initiative, lack of ambition.

The Pain of criticism originates from the perception of either self or others being wrong about what I am saying, thinking or doing. The key is to accept. There is a separate post on forgiving and acceptance shared earlier.

3) Fear of ill health

Symptoms include: experimenting with diets/physical exercises/without professional guidance, hypochondria, exercise excuses, susceptibility to sickness, faking illness, frequent drug/alcohol use (even pain killers)

Move from annamaya kosha to pranamaya kosha to manomaya kosha to vidyanmaya kosha. To anandmaya kosha. Each level is exponentiaLly larger than the earlier one...it is our perception of the physical body that keeps is limited...explore deeper...and realise higher realms.

4) Fear of loss of love of someone

Symptoms include: jealousy, fault finding, gambling, monetary theft and overspending (to prove to yourself that others will still love you even if you are reckless)

Self love is the foundation to relationships. It manifests. There is a separate post on this...

5) Fear of old age

Symptoms include: slowing down, talking about being old, making excuses against exercise due to age, ignoring human qualities feigning that they are child qualities..

See number 4.

6) Fear of death

Symptoms include: thinking about dying, lack of purpose, lack of drive in occupation

As the physical body is just a medium of giving...the fear of death...does not bother...See it in the perspective of universal life of more than ten billion years...compared to ours at best 100 years. That is 100 million times! Once you get the perspective...focus is on purpose of life and giving...nothing more...

Have a free, fearless, faithful (to purpose, mission, vision) life.
