Usually on special days, we set goals. Birthdays, new year, new financial year etc.
As i celebrated my 55th birthday, i was thinking, not of a new goal, but a new approach to goal setting itself.
We all have many goals. Money goals, health goals, fitness goals, relationship goals etc. So many goal setting tools, books, apps, monitoring tools are available now.
Yet many of us fail to achieve our goals, or worse, when we achieve them, there is no fulfillment or joy, and even worse is when we feel, we have to achieve the next goal and the next and the next one. It's an endless chase to happiness.
In this context, let me share a story about my dear friend Rohit. In our very first meeting, when we are attending the program on think and grow rich together, i was telling the class about my goals as a part of sharing. There were many goals, money, health, fitness, spiritual etc. Just like anyone would have.
Then it was Rohits turn to describe his goal. He said. He had only one goal. That's all. This made me very curious.
"Family Vacation in Europe x times a year for y weeks each". It was very surprising to hear him. I was thinking, how can one have only one goal?
That time x was 1 and y was 1. This was in 2018.
Then Rohit explained the class that travel is his passion. He loves to travel with him family all over the world. So travel is his key goal. Nothing else. This vacation plan means:
He has to make enough money, at least ten times of the vacation costs.
He has to be fit, to walk long hours for sight seeing for days together.
Business can run without him. Which means he must have a team and process in place.
The inspirational goal is hence travel. Money, fitness and process goals support it.
I call Rohit "Newton" now, as he has discovered the fundamental laws of goal setting. A law where all forces get aligned together.
I got it instantly, that our goals are not met because.
Vector, by the way it's a force with a direction, for all the people who never paid attention to physics, or forgot about it ;-).
They are too many goals. These are like vectors (forces in different direction, often conflicting with each other)
They are "have to do" goals. Which don't inspire us. (No force in the vectors)
Rohit (Newton!) has solved this problem by a unique method of aligning all goals to a single goal that inspires him. All vectors are in the same direction and all vectors are powerful with inspirational force.
The family sits together, in the evenings for months together, planning for the upcoming vecation. This keeps the goal alive, family bonding tight and relationships loving. What else would one want?
Rohit takes action, provided, the action is either neutral or supporting to the goals. Hence all actions are very mindful. And he is very conscious about where, with whom and on what he spends his time on.
Rohit by the way, is a graduate, running a very successful first generation catering business, catering to who's who of bollywood. You can Google "rr catering services Mumbai" and get him on board for your next event. He has all five star reviews. Amazing. That is the power of focus. My respect for him, grows every time, i interact with him. His clarity of thought is with very few. It originates from clear goal setting.
We are in 2023 now. The x has become 2 and y 4. An increase of 8x. You bet, his others goals, which are aligned are obviously met and are on track. An increase of 8 times in 5 years is phenomenal.
By the way, the laws of physics were discovered, documented by none other than Rishi kanad. See the pdf enclosed. I should call Rohit, not as Newton, but as kanad.
What is the goal that inspires you? Can you align all your goals to this inspirational goal? Share your inspirational goal in comments.
My passion is innovation. With my business ventures, i plan to impact a million families to be safe, productive, inspired, spiritual. This is my "mission one million". That is my goal. Everyone has a different passion. It's important to align to this passion to "feel the force".
Like you, does your organization have an inspirational goal? Or it is just a means for profit making? Do you go to work, inspired, stay inspired during the day? Some questions to make you think.
Blessing you with abundance, awareness and acceptance to find the inspirational goal and apply Newton's laws to be fulfilled as you take action towards your key goal.
