I was looking at powerful techniques to meditate and focus to execute my mission and advance ahead on all fronts...it turned out that its quite counter intuitive...

Enlightenment of all kinds is received in silence. All the methods of yoga, meditation, chanting devotional songs are meant to lead is into silence. Irony is...We spend a lot of time in activities and almost no time into the state of silence.

As I read about any great people whether scientists or spiritual leaders...a common factor emerged...they have spent a lot and lot of time into silence..a lot of time alone with themselves. This is the common thread. They have gone to campus universities surrounded by nature, into caves and mountains...

As my mind does not recognize time and space. Any place, any moment is ok to in silence for me

In ancient India, silence is called "maun". It is mistaken for not talking...actually it has quite a deep meaning...

Silence is of four types.

1. Silence of voice. Dont talk. Simpler but the starting point.

2. Silence of senses. This is withdrawal of senses ...Pratyahar in ashtang yoga. Difficult to do...so you need a early morning get up to make it easy on the senses. No light. No sound..time

3. Silence of thoughts. Seems difficult. But like you let the ripples in the lake go away with time after throwing a stone...just let go...minds natural state is to be still...it returns to this state.

4. Silence of identity. Automatic after step 3. Effortless.

Then the question of vedas comes in. If I am not my body, my thoughts, my senses, my identity, then "Who am I"? This is the last stage...a long way to go for me...

The process is...Simple...Sit in complete silence. It does not matter where you are. Focus on breathing. It will become slower and slower as you relax and reach the silence state. Slower the breath, the more silent the mind..experience it.

Repeat slowly. I am not my body. I am not my thoughts. I am not my identify. If thoughts keep coming to you...

Don't focus. Just let go. Meditation is not about any effort or concentration other than focus on your own breath! It is about being effortless. That is our natural state. Still and connected.

Slowly, the mind will cease having thoughts...

Start with a few minutes a day. No need to go to Himalayas or lake or sea side or resort to mediate. All you need is already within you.

Each place has its own energy. Meditating at powerful places like holy places, under trees, mansarovar, have their own super powers. But don't wait...start at home...

Once you experience true silence, universe will open its doors of abundant knowledge, power, peace and love to you. Insights and intuitions start coming automatically.

I have started this simple and effective practise recently. You can too.

I can now withdraw into silence in a cab, at home, at work...progressing slowly...but for sure.

My need, my desire to do unnecessary gossip ( talking about things that are not connected to my work and personal mission) is reducing.

One marked difference is that I no longer desire intoxicating substances like alcohol to relax from stress or to celebrate success....just water is enough! My desire to have non veg food and strong foods like raw onions have reduced a lot automatically. There is no willpower involved here.

As I do this, my progress on the work front is increasing dramatically with new opportunities, business and more. ( in times of so called slowdown)

Take action today...Have a super day.

Kuch pal gujaro "maun" mein aaj! "Mauj" (fun) wahin hai. 👍
