There are 2 purposes in life. Karmic purpose and the soul purpose. The distinction between them was not clear. How they are linked to each other, was also not clear, causing confusion and stopping me from realizing my true potential. Karmic purpose is related to "doing" and most of the times, linked (not attached, as attachment means something different) with having. Attracting results without attachment was explained in an earlier post. When the purpose and mission of karma are clear, the power is unleashed. My purpose is "innovation" and mission is to "transform one million lives globally" with miGenie (as the vehicle to achieve this mission). There are millions of rules regarding good karma, bad karma, conduct, morals etc. My experience is that once the purpose and mission are aligned, it is more or less automatic. I did not have to read about top 10 tips on empathy on google to become slightly more accepting and understanding people. it comes automatically as the mission is about giving value. I dont have to control my diet and addictions. My mission demands that my body be in peak state. The diet follows automatically.

Attached to "having" results, used to bind me with fear of failure or greed of success at any cost. However, I have realized that any fruit (result) of karmic action depends solely on sanchit prarabha and kriyamana (explained elsewhere). I remember a classic example given by my Mentor Naresh Rangwani...which is as follows. I am sitting in a restaurant, and I have ordered pizza. I have taken the action of getting to the restaurant and placing my order. After some time, the waiter comes with a pizza towards me, and I expect the pizza to be served. I have anticipation. I have excitement. My hunger increases. All senses become active. As he walks towards me and then past me, I observe that the pizza was for someone else. Following the law of karma, as results are governed by Sanchit Kriyamana and Prarabdha karma, the timing of results is not known. What is certain that results come, following the natural law of karma. Expectation of results realizing that they have not come leads to a downward spiral of despair, grief, sorrow. That does not mean, I should not expect results. It only means, that any action done for the result is to be driven by the purpose and mission. The results will come. Have faith and wait. Detach myself from expectations.

The above is summarized in the divine Shrimad Bhagwat Gita in its famous shloka on Karmaye Vadhikaraste...Dharma is our mission. Once we are aligned to it, the sense of duty comes first, even before the very existence. Bhagwan Shri Krishna is not telling us not to expect results. He is simply telling that leave the results to him. Focus on the action, Never be inactive. That is the distinction between Nishkam karma (without being attached to results) and Sakam (being attached to results) karma . Karma always produces a result, even if I dont have the result in mind, Karma will produce one. The key here is not to be emotionally attached to the result. Result is seen as it is. That's all. Having a result is by grace of the supreme. A change in the timeline is certain with gurukrupa. Only guru has the power to alter the master plan. Hence vital to have spiritual guru (not a commercial guru, baba etc) to guide and mentor me. I am fortunate to have my satgurus presence around me all the time as he is in sanjivan samadhi state. Complete surrender to Guru, who is the manifestation of satchitananda is the key.

Being is a state. it has nothing to do with action. It is false that when I have something (a result), then I will be happy. Such results of actions are never permanent and hence the happiness resulting from them is also never permanent. The natural state for the soul is the blissful state, the ananda state of satchitananda. All souls are on this journey through their multiple lifetimes. This simply means moving from the physical plane to energy plane to mental plane to intellectual plane to blissful plane. In short, transcending the five koshas. Once the blissful state is reached, there is no need for karma and the ultimate goal over lifetimes is realized.

To summarize, when we take action, it is the sat (knowledge) and chit (energy) of the universal satchitananda manifested. When we are in blissful state, it is ananda. Hence the doing of karma and the being of soul are direct manifestations of satchitananda. Both coexist. Both are independent of each other. However, to move into higher planes, getting aligned to the purpose and mission while being in akhand namasmaran is the way forward.
