akhand namasmaran in bhaktimarga, that is, chanting the name of the lord, with the breath, even in sleep, also called ajapajapa is one of the most important milestones in the journey to enlightenment. You will find this across sampradayas, which are aligned to bhaktimarga.

To achieve this, it requires a tremendous focus, as we live in a day to day, materialistic world, and have many roles and responsibilities. I could not progress much on this front even as I tried playing the namasmaran on my phone, in the background, got new headphones etc.

As all sounds, ultimately originate from aum, the constant sound of aum is the essence of namasmaran, is very easy to anchor with, while in waking dreaming state. I have still not experienced it in deep sleep, as no is heard in the mind, when the mind itself is not active!

A method to hear the aum sound is given in another blog. It's easy, quick and effective. May this method give you the progress on your path and give you what you truly desire!
